Peace Gate development Organization has ventured a Landmark initiative to supporting the implementation of the migration and development component in Iraq. Under this program, Iraqi institutional capacity will be strengthened to better manage all aspects of migratory flows by establishing a Migration Technical Facility and a Migration Profile. Moreover it will be ensured that Iraqi Government’s capacity to delegate support to local Government regarding the capacity of migrants should be improved to become active in support of local development in Iraq. In addition to it, this innovative initiative of PGDO will be developing and implementing – on a pilot base – innovative temporary and permanent return and reintegration programs, as well as resourcefulness of economic empowerment for youth and women by livelihood projects (vocational training, small grants, SME (small and medium enterprises) microbusinesses and providing livestock to people in villages) empowering unemployed youth to find job opportunities through training and create a small business. Moreover PGDO will commence activism campaigns through media, social media to disseminate information of illegal migrant, its legal consequences and aftermath of illegal migration.
